Physical Computing with Nicholas Stedman
Want to make stuff move with your computer? Want to generate audio with your body? Want to make a kinetic-sculpture, or a real robot? Want to make a responsive video installation? Want to ‘mod’ your musical instrument? In this production workshop, taught by Canadian artist Nicholas Stedman, we will explore how digital technology can be integrated into a physical arts practice, be it dance, music, sculpture, installation or performance art. “Physical computing, in the broadest sense, means building interactive physical systems by the use of software and hardware that can sense and respond to the analog world” (wikipedia).
