“A current interest in my research is the link between landscape, occupation and regional identity. By documenting built structures and researching the socio-cultural dynamic of New Brunswick, the project will consider how the land and terrain informs local culture. After surveying sites of regional significance, the findings will be recorded via digital mapping techniques and analogue cartography. This data will then inform a series of photographic, film and video works that present an outsiders perspective on the cultural factors present. By researching the history of the area and how in particular its landscape has been represented in art, the project will respond to the issues that impact on the region.”
