In this hands-on workshop participants will learn how to capture images and sound to create a short poetic film.
Participants will be asked to bring a personal story and an item (or two) relating to that story. In groups of two, participants will learn to use audio equipment to record each other’s story. With the story in mind participants will then collect images (still or moving) inspired by the story. Using basic editing technique, image and sound will be put together with a screening of the work to conclude the workshop. The purpose of the exercise is to free participants from traditional film structure, learn the importance of good audio, and see how related or unrelated images can create a poetic piece.
