Marina Roy was invited to Sackville as a participant in the Visiting Artist Programme. She presented an artist talk at the Owens Art Gallery on Friday, November 8.

Roy’s work explores her interest in “representing an accumulation of fictitious and absurd symptoms or the formation of new hybrid forms (e.g. the becoming-animal or becoming-machine of humans) is allegorical, finding a meeting ground where disparate mediums, historical moments, and meanings intersect. More specifically the work is related to paranoia, a certain unhinging from ‘reality’ that mass culture has been producing for sometime now.”
