Part of The Living is Easy : a series of projects by Struts & Faucet members.

Lacey Decker Hawthorne is an artist whose practice focuses on printmaking and installation. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, as well as the UK, Japan, and France. Both her print and installation work encompass ideas of materiality, language, scale, and embodied experience.

Nostos: a home against the skin, considers the idea of textiles as the first house of the body, and is composed of three wooden houses in descending size, papered with translucent sewing patterns. Each house is built to the scale of the body, and is able to be entered and inhabited by the visitor. This work explores the visual parallel between architecture plans and clothing patterns, as well as broader ideas of how we construct a home, and what gives us shelter and protection.
