For the Ease On Down the Road Residency, Angela will research the philosopher Maurice Blanchot’s writings on the “other night”. Blanchot describes this as a second state of being that passes by our unconscious selves while we are asleep. She will be responding to Blanchot’s writing by filming and recording experiential video and audio late into the evenings, exploring the intimate and alien nature of late night waking consciousness.

Angela Glanzmann is an emerging artist and cultural worker living in Halifax, NS. Glanzmann works in fields of sculpture, video, installation and performance. Her work centres on themes of survival, loneliness, bodily presence and landscape. She has exhibited in galleries and artist-run centers across Canada and in Edinburgh, UK.
